Classroom Activity:

            As we know Jane Eyre is bildungsroman. A bildungsroman is a coming of age story which is what the story of Jane Eyre is. For a fun group assignment, I want you all to get into groups of four. In your groups I want you to write a 1-3-page paper of your own bildungsroman. I want you to also within your groups to draw out your character and their development that goes along with your story. I will provide each group with a tri-fold board, the color pencils, scissors, glue, any other material you may need. You are to get me the list of material one week before we begin the project.

Class keep in mind that this project is made to be fun, whatever route your group wants to take your story is completely fine with me. I just want to make sure that you all grasp the concept of the word bildungsroman. Once you are able to understand the meaning of this word, you will be able to understand Jane Eyre as we get deeper into the novel.
