In this class our main focus will be on analyzing, dissecting, and interpreting the  novels will be reading for this class and future classes. We will be reading Jane Eyre by Charlotte Bronte, Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, and The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald. While reading these novels the students will be doing literary analysis paper s and projects.

   Along with reading these stories, we will be focusing on figurative language, writing development, and vocabulary development. In order to achieve the goal of understanding these concepts, they will be reading short stories, poems, and nonfiction. This is to help the students gain a better understanding of what they are reading and how to dissect it completely.
